CIGT Sprint Vallelunga | 22-24 May 2026

Race Results: Imperiale Racing Finishes P14 in Both Races of the Italian GT Sprint Championship Weekend at Vallelunga.

The second round of the Italian Gran Turismo Sprint Championship, held from May 22nd to 24th at Vallelunga, confirmed the competitiveness and consistency shown by Imperiale Racing throughout the weekend.

The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 #85, driven by Phillippe Denes and Lautaro de la Iglesia, faced a challenging but encouraging weekend, showing strong race pace and competitive performances in both races, finishing P14 in both occasions.

A challenging weekend from the very first practice sessions

On a highly technical and demanding circuit, the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 cars had to deal with an unfavourable Balance of Performance from the opening free practice sessions, a condition that remained unchanged throughout the entire event.

Despite this, the Huracán GT3 EVO2 #85 consistently showed strong pace across the weekend, particularly over race distance, while adapting well to the changing track conditions.

Difficult qualifying, but competitive race pace

Qualifying sessions ended with the car starting from the second half of the grid, making the fight for the top positions significantly more difficult from the opening laps of both races.

In the races, however, Phillippe Denes and Lautaro de la Iglesia managed every situation with composure and consistency, extracting the maximum from the car even in demanding conditions.

Heat, tyre management and teamwork

The intense heat throughout the Roman weekend made car and tyre management even more critical.

The team worked with precision and consistency during every session, reacting quickly to changing conditions and once again demonstrating strong teamwork, organisation and adaptability.

Although the final result did not fully reflect the team’s potential, Vallelunga still delivered important confirmations in terms of technical progress, team growth and overall competitiveness.

Focus already shifting to the next rounds

Imperiale Racing will return to the track from June 19th to 21st at Monza for the next round of the Italian Gran Turismo Endurance Championship, while the next Sprint round is scheduled for July 24th to 26th at Mugello.
